Understanding causes and consequences of energy poverty

An event to promote the results of the research projects of this proposal will be organized with national and international researchers and stakeholders. This event will launch the contributed book that will be the result of the research activities carried out during the project. Researchers in the field will discuss the HOPPER research results and other papers on the topic will be presented. A panel of discussants will be invited to present the main contents of the book and discuss the issues raised by the work.

ORGANIZATION

The event will be organized at University of Florence with a duration of half a day. A local scientific committee will invite selected speakers to participate in the panel. This event will be advertised through the website, the UNIFI newsletter and the local press. Stakeholders and policymakers will be invited as well as the general public.

Objectives of the debate will be (i) understanding the causes and consequences of energy poverty, and (ii) identifying the best ways to implement effective policies and interventions, energy being a prerequisite for the protection and promotion of human rights.
